Many people don’t know how to bake chicken breast, but it’s probably one the easiest week night meals you can make. Make it ahead, mix it in your favorite recipe, or eat it with your favorite vegetable.
This recipe is already seasoned, tender, and juicy, so it is delicious in it’s own right. However, the flavors are great for almost any recipe that calls for chicken. I highly recommend this over pre-cooked and frozen. It’s so fast and easy, and SO worth the extra step.
The key to baked chicken breast is a high temperature. This also makes chicken breast an awesome weeknight staple because it is super quick and easy to do in the oven. In total, this recipe takes about 30 minutes!
For 1 lb, or about 2 raw (boneless/skinless for this recipe) chicken breasts:
2-3 tablespoons Olive Oil
1/2 tsp. salt (I also like to substitute Lowry’s Seasoned Salt)
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. oregano
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a baking dish with foil and drizzle the olive oil and spices in the pan. Rub the chicken with the oil and spices and place on the pan a few inches apart. Cook in the oven at 450 degrees for 10 minutes, flip over and cook for another 10 minutes. Let rest for 5 minutes before cutting into the chicken. This allows for the meat to retain more of it’s juicy goodness!
